Chicken

Pork

Our day-old chicks are shipped to us from a hatchery located in Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, the chicks are immediately given food and water and warm up under the brooder to take a well-deserved nap after their long trip to our farm. Over the next two weeks, the brooder is slowly removed to “harden them off” and the transition to pasture occurs. Electric poultry netting allows the chickens to have free choice access to abundant pasture and insects, while keeping most chicken stealing varmints out. Although the impact on our pasture is greater free-ranging, the chickens thrive in their natural element, unlike “pastured chicken” where the animals spend their lives confined in outdoor pens or “chicken tractors,” our chickens have the freedom to roam.

All poultry is processed here at the farm in our custom-built slaughter house to ensure that the poultry you purchase is of the highest quality.

~ 2007 ~

We are currently accepting orders for the 2007 season. Chicken will sell for $3.40/lb. and should weigh approximately 4 to 5 pounds. Chickens are whole, less giblets and are packaged in plastic bags. Depending on your preference, the chickens can come either frozen, unfrozen or a combination of both. Chickens are usually ready for processing during the month of August.

*All prices are subject to change due to any fluctuation in fuel and grain prices.
